The coffee underneath it all.
Before anything else, Shyne is coffee — fair trade beans grown in the highlands of Papua New Guinea, then freeze-dried to protect the flavour the farm worked for. It's the base of all three blends and the reason none of them taste like a supplement.

Whole roasted coffee beans

Freeze-dried instant coffee crystals
Papua New Guinea highlands, fair trade.
Papua New Guinea grows coffee at altitude on smallholder farms, and the highlands produce cups known for smooth body and low bitterness — a natural fit for a coffee that carries creamer and maple sugar in the same spoonful.
Our beans are bought through fair trade channels, so the growers are paid fairly for their crop. If we're going to print every milligram of mushroom on the label, the coffee should meet the same standard of honesty — it appears on our ingredient list as organic instant coffee, exactly as supplied.
Freeze-dried, not spray-dried.
Most instant coffee is spray-dried: blasted with hot air, which is fast, cheap, and hard on flavour. Ours is freeze-dried — brewed coffee is frozen and the water removed under vacuum at low temperature, preserving far more of the original cup.
That's why Shyne dissolves in 30 seconds, hot or cold, and still tastes like coffee someone actually roasted with intent.
65–75mg of caffeine, on purpose.
Each serving lands at 65–75mg of caffeine — roughly half of a typical brewed cup. That's a design decision, not a compromise: enough caffeine to be unmistakably coffee, low enough that a second cup is a pleasure instead of a gamble.
If you're tracking your intake, our caffeine calculator compares Shyne against drip coffee, espresso, tea, and energy drinks.

What researchers have found.
This section summarizes published composition and characterization research about organic instant coffee as an ingredient. It is not a claim that Shyne products diagnose, treat, prevent, or cure any condition.
Coffee terroir research confirmed that Papua New Guinea arabica contains elevated levels of acetyl furan and 2-furfuryl-5-methylfuran — volatile compounds responsible for the 'sweet-caramel-like notes' characteristic of that origin. Growing altitude above 1,000 m was correlated with higher chlorogenic acid and lipid content.
Williams et al., Foods (MDPI), 2022 ↗Single-origin espresso mineral characterization studies found that geographic origin is a primary determinant of elemental composition. Coffee produced at higher altitudes in cooler temperatures showed extended ripening periods and greater accumulation of flavour-active compounds.

Asked & answered.
Is Shyne real coffee?
Yes — every blend starts with 100% real, fair trade coffee from Papua New Guinea, freeze-dried to preserve flavour. The mushroom extract is added to the coffee, not substituted for it.
What's the difference between freeze-dried and spray-dried instant coffee?
Spray-drying uses hot air and sacrifices flavour for speed. Freeze-drying removes water under vacuum at low temperature, which preserves much more of the brewed coffee's character. Shyne is freeze-dried.
How much caffeine is in a cup of Shyne?
65–75mg per serving — about half of a typical brewed coffee. Try our caffeine calculator to compare it against your current routine.
