what to look for

A better instant-coffee label.

Coffee source

Look for real coffee and transparent sourcing—not vague “coffee flavour.”

A measured serving makes strength and caffeine easier to repeat.

Added ingredients

Creamer, sweetener and flavours should be easy to find and understand.

Preparation

questions

Freeze-dried coffee, answered.

What is freeze-dried instant coffee?

It is coffee that has already been brewed, frozen and dried under vacuum. Add water and the dried coffee solids dissolve back into a cup of coffee.

Is freeze-dried coffee real coffee?

Yes. It begins as brewed coffee. Freeze-drying removes water for storage and fast preparation; it does not turn coffee into a coffee substitute.

What is the difference between freeze-dried and spray-dried coffee?

Freeze-drying removes water from frozen coffee under vacuum at low temperature. Spray-drying sends liquid coffee through hot air. Both make instant coffee, but freeze-drying is generally chosen when preserving more aroma and flavour is the priority.

Can freeze-dried coffee be made iced?

Yes. Dissolve it in a small splash of warm water, then add cold water, milk and ice. There is no brewed pot to cool first.

Is Shyne freeze-dried?

Yes. Every Shyne blend starts with fair-trade freeze-dried instant coffee, then adds one clearly labelled mushroom extract and its flavour ingredients.
