Spain's Sweetest Coffee Tradition
Café con leche (coffee with milk) is Spain's most popular coffee, but the Spanish Latte takes it further by adding sweetened condensed milk. The result is rich, creamy, and decadently sweet.
The Condensed Milk Difference
Sweetened condensed milk was invented as a way to preserve milk before refrigeration. Today, it's prized for the unique caramel-like sweetness and silky texture it adds to coffee.
A Breakfast Staple
In Spain, coffee is typically enjoyed with toast (tostada) for breakfast. The rich sweetness of Spanish Latte pairs perfectly with something savory to balance it out.
Hot or Iced?
This recipe works both ways:
- Hot: Traditional and comforting
- Iced: Perfect for summer, the condensed milk doesn't dilute like regular sweeteners
